THE HOPE OF GLORY MINISTRY
GROWTH IN THE GRACE AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS CHRIST
You Can Be Forgiven
The word of GOD is our light and our guidance in teaching the truth. It is there to help us find the way leading to eternal life. "The word of GOD is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" said the author of Psalm 119 in verse 105. And "It is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of GOD may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
Considering these passages from the truth, we will analyze the question of forgiveness to see what provokes it and how we can be forgiven.
Is there any truth concerning our behavior that proves we need to be forgiven? If I had not done any wrong, why should I be forgiven? If I did wrong, what or who can testify for or against me, convincing me of it?
The word of YHWH (YaHWeH) declares that doing wrong is sin, and sin is the transgression of the law. (I John 3:4)
Consideration should be made of the words found in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD."
How this has happened?
Romans 5:12-14 answers that question.
|
5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: |
|
5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. |
|
5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. |
v1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14 So the LORD God said to the serpent: “ Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.”
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“ Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. 19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”
This is the report of how sin got into the world. From that time on the curse has been on mankind. That curse has brought to Adam and Eve, and all who live after them, all miseries that we face today. On top of that, our physical worse enemy has invaded us to the point of destroying even an unborn child. Yes, death has taken away billions of people, and we know that it will take more in the years to come.
How can we escape a so great punishment?
Justice should prevail for any transgression of the law. In our society, the law of the land should be applied against any transgressor, otherwise there will be anarchy. One would feel that he is above the law, and cannot be punished for his wrong doings. How would you feel with such a behavior when your daughter would be raped by an intruder in your house when all safety precautions have been in force? How would you feel when a drunk driver will make of you a widow because of irresponsibility on his part? How would you feel if one would vandalize your home and set it in fire, leaving you homeless and on a wheelchair, your body full of scars, your face disfigured? Justice must be applied to prevent those things and give a warning to those who have offended others, that this kind of conduct will not be tolerated, for there is a law forbidding it. But all this has been done, and we have been the perpetuators, the wrongdoers, the transgressors. Do we want to be under the law, especially when it was an accident in our life? A fall into temptation? A misunderstanding of the precepts? An allegiance broken by error? Do we want to pay the penalty in those circumstances? Would we want somebody else to pay for our voluntary or involuntary mistakes? What about if the law had a provision that states that ignorance in unpunishable? What about if an amendment in the law would say that whosoever wants to free you from the penalty can give the guaranty of your liberation by paying the highest price imposed by the law for your trespassing? You would go free of charges if that one person would take the penalty on himself, for your freedom? That would be great, Hein!
Consider yourself today. Go into introspection. Go into retrospection. Search yourself inside out. Scrutinize your life to see if there is anything or something that makes you worthy of punishment, of chastisement from God. Did you find something? If your answer is yes, there is hope for you. Continue to read. If your answer would be no, I am still inviting you to read these verses from 1 John 1:8 - 10 and 1 John 2:1-3
"if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, YAHSHUA HA MASHIACH (Jesus Christ) the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments."
The solution is simple, and nobody has to interfere with your approach to GOD to find your way out of your transgressions. You can be freed in the secrecy of your heart. You can receive the pardon of God when others are still condanming you. There is a place of quiet rest near to the heart of God, says a song, a place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God. O Jesus blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God, Hold us who wait before thee, Near to the heart of God. Yes, your sins can be forgiven, they can be erased, you can go free, you can be cleansed, for someone has paid the price for you. Someone has discussed your case with the Master Judge of the Universe. The verdict says you are condemned, and for your redemption you need something that you cannot offer. You cannot be bailed out with money, you cannot give your father, your mother, your children, your wife, in exchange for your sins. The worse is the fact that you cannot offer yourself for you are not worthy: a sinful person cannot offer himself for his own sins. But, There is a place of comfort sweet, Near to the heart of God, A place where we our Saviour meet, Near to the heart of God. O Jesus, Blest Redeemer, Sent from the heart of God, Hold us, who wait before thee, Near to the heart of God.
If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Come to Him, for There is a place of full release, Near to the heart of God, A place where all is joy and peace, Near to the heart of God. O Jesus, blest Redeemer, Sent from the heart of God, Hold us, who wait before thee, Near to the heart of God.
Your sins can be forgiven, even the sins you don't know of, the sins commited when you did not know GOD, the sins of your youth when follies were done to satisfy the flesh. There is no sin too great, too horrible for the forgiveness of your Master. He can wash away all your faults. The solution is to accept JESUS as your personal Savior. He will give you the power to overcome the sins of your life "For it is GOD which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13) This will empower you to acknowledge your faults, to confess your sins, for a full remission of them to a complete salvation.
Come to JESUS to be changed and to receive his pardon in confessing your sins. GOD is faithful and just to forgive your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Come!
Are you a liar? a murderer? a whoremonger? a magician? an envious? an arrogant? a proud? an atheist? a philosopher going against the truth? an evolutionist? an adulterer? a women or children abuser? a backslider? a foolish talker? a covetous person? an idolater? a fornicator? an effeminate? an abuser of yourself with mankind? a thief? a drunkard? a reviler? an extortioner? You can't be saved while living such a life, but the Redeemer is calling you today to change your behavior. He will wash you. He will sanctify you. He will justify you, that those things can be of the past. Come to him now!
"For GOD so loved the world (including you), that he gave his only begotten son (JESUS), that whosoever (even you) believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
His arms are wide opened to receive you. He wants you for he died for your sins and my sins. Come, and in your intimacy with him, confess your lifestyle to him, earnestly, and you will be rehabilitated in his love, you will receive a full pardon, and his blessings will change your life forever. Come! for you to receive his mercy.
May the Good Lord help you in your decision to accept Him today, for when you hear his voice, do not harden your heart. Please, do not turn him away! SHALOM! PEACE!
