THE HOPE OF GLORY MINISTRY
GROWTH IN THE GRACE AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS CHRIST
AN OPENED DOOR TO
CONFESSION
Love opens a door to confession and does not tolerate sins, but leads the
sinner in a sincere repentance, for sin carries in itself a punishment, a
penalty, which is death. (Romans 6:23) “The
wages of sin is death...”
Let us consider what happened in the Garden of Eden. Let
us read Genesis 2:16, 17:
“And the Lord commanded…” A commandment was given. The law was established with the penalty for
its transgression which is death:
“You may freely eat of every tree of the
garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you may not eat, for
in the day you eat thereof you shall surely die.”
Transgression will bring to you the rejection
of your community, the chastisement of the society you are part of, and you will
become an abomination where you live. That is what happened to Adam and
Eve. They could not face their teacher,
they could no longer enjoy his presence, and they went and hid themselves. They have lost their protection and were
looking for a replacement: they sewed fig leaves together to use as aprons to
cover their nakedness; they became bush people, for they hid themselves among
the trees of the garden. They have lost
their society, their community, their sense of loyalty, expecting their
punishment far from the face of YHWH.
But LOVE always opens a way to confession.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make
him a liar, and his word is not in us.”(I John 1:9, 10)
In Adam’s case the Lord questioned him with
tact, in a form that will lead him to say exactly what happened. The Master has put words in his mouth that he
does not become a liar like his deceiver Satan.
“And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are you? And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was
naked; and I hid myself. And God said, who
told you that you were naked? Have you
eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded you that you should not eat? (Genesis 3:9-11) A question carrying the answer in it.
The
man (Adam) had no choice other than to say the truth. He could not continue to follow the voice of
his enemy who had deceived him, through Eve, now to lie to his Master. The Omniscient and Omnipresent God did not
have to call Adam, for he knew already what had happened, and he did not have to wait, for he was opening a door to Adam to confess his sins. Adam, taking that opportunity could not
tergiversate and lose what was offered freely to him. He felt that God knowing everything, and
telling him what he has done in an interrogative manner, was extending his arm
to grab a repentant sinner who would confess his iniquities. And Adam expressed the whole matter to
God.
What a Master! What a teacher! Whose great compassion was manifested! What a Love ready to cover the multitude of
sins!
He has manifested his love by doing what He requires of us to do for
those who trespassed against us.
1 Peter 4:8 says: “…above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity
shall cover the multitude of sins.”
1Corinthians 13:6-8: “Charity rejoices not in
iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Charity never fails…”
They , Adam and Eve, felt that they have been offered
something they could not refuse. Yahweh
was there for them to redeem them from their new master, the clever, the
shrewdest of all the wild animals created.
They will find a way to regain their freedom, for you are the slaves of
whom you carry your order from, whom you become the servants. “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of
sin unto death, or obedience unto righteousness? (Romans 6:16)
Adam and Eve would come to converse with GOD
who questioned both, leading them by his
interrogation to repent, to confess, to receive forgiveness, to be saved, for
whosoever hides his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses his
sins and repents from them receives eternal life. He wanted them to repent and confess their sin
in order to bring them his salvation. They should not show pride, for God resists to the proud. They should not accuse YAHWEH of wrong doing, for this would show arrogance. They shlould humbly repent, confess, without lies on their lips, and believe in the word of God to fully be restored in the times to come. They did and received a promise. Proverbs
28:13 “He that covers his sins shall not
prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.”
Psalm 32:5 “I acknowledged my sin unto you, and I have not hid my
iniquities. I said, I will confess my
transgressions unto the Lord; and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.”
When Adam confessed his sin and that even Eve acknowledged her transgression, the Lord provided a better cover for their nakedness. They have followed the counsel of the Saviour written thousands of years after in Revelations 3:18, 19
"I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in fire, that thou mayest rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thy eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent."
Through repentance they manifested their acceptance of the salvation offered by the Master, God YAHWEH, and through YAHSHUA they have received forgiveness after they have confessed their faults. The blood of YAHSHUA can cleanse you from all unrighteousness. What are you waiting for? Jesus is standing at the door of your heart waiting for you to open that he can enter your life to bring you the full gift of salvation. Please, do not turn him away. Answer him today while he is waiting with opened arms to receive you as a child returning to his father after a chastisement for his wrong doings. Come! Come!! Come!!!
It is your turn, NOW! Repent! Confess your faults, and be saved!
The field is the world; the good seed are
the children of the kingdom. (Matthew 13:38)
